Conservatism

Conservatives seek to secure and safeguard peace, improve the human condition, and limit government intrusion into the lives of individuals. Conservatism is the tendency to maintain the status quo, and to avoid changes. There is an emphasis on tradition as a source of wisdom. That means that in the United States, conservatives look to the church and family as a foundation for guidance.

Conservatism is in conflict with Neo-con doctrine that proposes U.S. domination over the world, severely endangering our security and the peace (see Neo-cons). When the U.S. forcefully tries to undermine any foreign government that does not support “free market” capitalism, is it any surprise that countries hate us. We undermined Iran and brought in the Shah. We undermined Iraq and supported Hussein, then tried to undermine him for ten years. We are still trying to undermine the governments in Cuba, North Korea, and Venezuela because our corporate controlled leaders hate any government that nationalizes its industries. Neo-cons tell us that people hate America because we are free, but really they hate us because our military and foreign policies kill tens of thousands of their people.

Neo-con “free market economics” have already severely disrupted the U.S. economy, creating huge job losses and forcing endless numbers of people to change careers, usually for less pay, which has severely disrupted and put a strain on the family (see Capitalism). Neo-cons will try to place the blame on others, but why is it that American workers loose their savings and their jobs while corporate executives walk away with tens of millions? Corporate greed, short-term planning, and misguided leaders seem to be the real reason.

Conservatives believe in individual rights over government rights. Neo-cons say they agree, but their actions are in complete opposition. A one-sided foreign policy resulted in 9/11 (see 9/11). The Neo-cons have successfully exploited the attack to promote fear and pass the Patriot Act, which drastically increases government rights and severely limits individual rights. Any citizen who is deemed an enemy combatant, anywhere, can be detained indefinitely without charge, thus circumventing our Constitutional right to due process. The government can now legally investigate any person for any reason, without any need for justifiable cause. I fully expect to be investigated because I wrote this book.

Neo-cons have helped create a world of terrorism, and then they say that we need a larger military to maintain the peace. A larger military budget is effectively bigger government, for it is the government that is spending the money. This neo-con government will be spending more money than any previous U.S. administration, and is creating a deficit so large that no economist feels comfortable with.

Conservatives do not realize that they are surrendering democracy to corporations. Most conservatives believe strongly in God and Satan, which makes them more susceptible to propaganda. Neo-cons just have to say that evil forces are attacking us, and religious individuals line up to support the neo-cons.

Neo-cons is suppose to stand for “new conservatives.” But it would be more accurate for it to stand for “new connivers” or “new con men,” because they are really salesmen out to sell Americans a vision of a giant world skyscraper, which they are building on sand. The neo-cons will make billions of dollars building it, but nobody will feel safe in that world skyscraper.
