Humans Are Blind

Humans are blind, yet humans think they can see and believe they are not blind. This is the reason that no religious prophet has succeeded in preventing war. Until humans acknowledge that they are blind, they will continue to suffer. 

Humans are blind… they can see a little… enough to survive. To be legally blind is to have vision that is ten times worse (less than 20/200 in the best eye) or a narrow field of vision (less than a 20 degree angle). In other words, humans can see a little and still be legally blind.

Question: If the world was filled with blind people, would they think that they were blind?

Humans are blind to over 90% of the world. As supporting evidence:

1. Humans are blind to their own blindness.

A. Humans are blind to everything that they cannot see.

B. Many animals are far superior in their senses (seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, feeling)

C. Humans can sense less than one-thousandth of the potential for each of their senses.

2. All of the earlier prophets/religions say that humans are blind:

Hindu - humans are blind to Oneness.

Moses - humans are so blind that they need Commandments to guide them.

Buddha - humans are blind to the causes of their suffering… they ignore the causes and conditions.

Jesus - “Forgive them for they know not what they do.” … forgive them for their blindness.

Qur’an - For indeed it is not the eyes that grow blind – but it is the hearts that grow blind.

Mormon - The progression from unbelief, to blindness, to hardness of heart is common in life.

3. Humans are blind to how fortunate they are to live on such a beautiful Earth

A. Earth is the perfect home for humans, yet humans are destroying it.

B. Within 50 light years distance, Earth is the only planet suspected of having life.

C. Venus and Mars likely had liquid water that shaped the landscape, yet both are lifeless planets with atmospheres primarily composed of CO2.

4. Humans are blind to evolving from other animals.

A. Darwin proposed Evolution by Natural Selection over 150 years ago, and it has had complete scientific support ever since.

B. Using religion as a reason, half of all humans will still deny that they evolved from other animals… they are blind to being blinded by religion.

C. Consequently, few humans recognize that they are animals… human animals… and what that means. Direct evidence is the sex act and procreation … humans share it with other animals.

5. Humans are blind to their subconscious self

A. Humans are aware of their conscious self and are blind to their subconscious self.

B. The human subconscious self is essentially their inner 13 year old self.

C. Humans think they outgrew their adolescent self, but their adolescent self just became subconscious survival self, and conscious self continued on from there.

6. Humans are blind to space

A. Humans operate in a relatively small space, usually in the immediate vicinity.

B. Humans are blind to the very small and the very large.

C. What humans can see exists. What they cannot see does not exist. They can only see to the horizon and not over the horizon.

7. Humans are blind to time

A. Most humans think in terms of a short time: an hour, a day, a week, a month… few think of more than a year. Humans do not see 2, 5, 10, 100, 1000 years into the past or the future.

B. Humans are blind to the very fast and the very slow.

C. Most cannot see how the past influences the present and the future.

8. Humans are blind to their addiction to fossil fuel energy, even though there are clean alternatives. Here are several signs of addiction:

A. Daily use is a sign of an addiction and humans use fossil fuel energy everyday… most use fossil fuel energy multiple times everyday.

B. Changing Appearance: Serious changes or deterioration in physical appearance to the world – lack of caring for our planet by increasing pollution and devastation.

C. Continued Use Despite Negative Consequences: Even though it is causing problems (allergies, asthma, obesity, cancer, global warming, wars), humans continue using fossil fuel energy.

9. Humans are blind to their approaching extinction from runaway global warming.

A. Since CO2 is invisible and global warming occurs so gradually, humans are essentially blind to global warming.

B. Since humans are blind to the future, humans cannot see that global warming is the biggest threat to life on Earth.

C. Humans are blind to how increasing temperatures will make Earth too inhospitable for them to exist, in less than 500 years.

10. Humans are blind to how to prevent their extinction.

A. With a Carbon Tax in 2017, humans can prevent runaway global warming.

B. To get a Carbon Tax in 2017, humans must elect a Congress and a President who will support it.

C. To get a Carbon Tax in 2017, humans must help Americans support a Carbon Tax in 2017.

All of the above are the reason humans keep suffering… their severe blindness.

Acknowledging any one of the above is confirmation of human blindness. Acknowledging all ten, which are all true, shows how severely blind humans are.

Think of the above like a visit to an optometrist who is showing how blind humans are, and how they can learn to see. By learning to see the danger of global warming, and by getting a Carbon Tax in 2017, humans will see well enough to prevent their extinction.
