Seeing Through the Image

Because sight is so important to us, most people judge others by what they look like. This is probably a remnant from our primitive animal origins. I guess that is why public relations is so important for actors and politicians (see Public Relations). Even though judging people by appearances is a primitive trait, it is still very effective at controlling public opinion.

People should be able to tell more about someone by what they say or what they write, but public relations and speechwriters interfere with the public being able to do this. For example, 95% of what George W says is totally prepared by his public relations team, so you should ignore that part. It is the 5% that W occasionally adds in, which show his true feelings, and which regularly turns into a public relation “damage control” nightmare. Every George W press conference and speech should begin with this disclaimer; “The following words have been prepared in advance by a team of professional speech writers, and these words are designed to elicit patriotism and fear, so that we can convince you to support whatever we want. Any real statements made by George W will be denied and erased from the record, to the best of our ability, in order to maintain the illusion that you have a president.” I am picking on W because I think that if he was allowed to speak for 30 minutes, he could only repeat the same propaganda that he has said in the past, essentially saying nothing. He is a puppet with strings and he doesn’t even realize it.

It should be common knowledge that our government has been installing/supporting puppet governments in foreign countries for decades. It should come as quite a shock that we have a puppet government in the United States. When you figure out who is pulling the strings, then you will understand what half of this book is all about (see Propaganda, Neo-cons).
